I have just had, not one of, but THE best mountain biking experience of my life. It took place at Old Thomas River, just over the hill.

On the 23rd October Princes William and Harry came through the eScape Route on the Enduro Africa motorbike ride. Enduro Africa is a motorcycle adventure that is undertaken in aid of four causes - UNICEF, Sentebale (the Princes' fund for Lesotho), the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund and Touch Africa. The princes along with the other riders took on eight greuling days of tough off road riding predominantly on the Wild Coast.

On Saturday the 11th of October at 5.30 in the morning the sun was shining on Stutterheim as we motored out of the driveway at Hillside Horses. The SHS equestrian team was going to the inter schools. The team was

On Tuesday, October 7th  The Shire Eco Lodge   hosted the second  eScape social get-together. Rain, thunderstorms and hail did not stop the committed members from being there and it added to the great atmosphere and good spirits.

Rob was expecting us and a bar was set up in the first cottage. We could do with a glass of wine after our “got stuck” experience - Rob came to the rescue. After a glass of wine and some lovely snacks - we seem to have a little food challenge going -  we moved out to around the fire which Tim had made for us. 

The setting at the Shire is without a doubt unique and wherever you turn, you have magnificent views of the forest, the little stream and something so special.   

Eagle’s Ridge was recently visited by journalists from The Week-End Post. Barbara Hollands and her husband spent an evening at the hotel and wrote a glowing article about their time there.
